If you are visiting Cornwall, or live in this lovely county, we invite you to call in at our shop in Bond Street, Redruth. Visitors become friends and if you wish we will continue to supply you by post. The ministry and business (we see it as both) began in Redruth from a barrow in the market but soon moved into shop premises in 1969. In 1977 a larger building was acquired on the opposite side of Bond Street (where we are now). Over the years we have seen steady growth and we now have links with many churches in West Cornwall.

As a shop we are not affiliated to any church or denomination. This neutral position enables us to serve Anglicans, Baptists, Brethren, charismatics, Methodists, Pentecostals, Salvation Army, URC and independent churches. Our range of stock is best described as ‘broadly evangelical’ so we hope there will be something for most points of view. On controversial issues we stock books reflecting both (all?) sides! You will probably find some things you approve of and possibly some you will disagree with! Our aim is to advance the retailing of products which glorify our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and God the Father, through the ongoing ministry of the Holy Spirit.

We have a broad base of about 4,000 titles in stock at any time, including the bestsellers, so do allow plenty of time to browse. Publishers include: Harper Collins, Hodder & Stoughton, Kevin Mayhew, IVP, IVP USA, Lion, Christian Focus, Word but there are many, many others. Our books are divided into the following sections: Christian Living, Biography & Testimony, Gift Books, Reference Books, Commentaries, Music & Hymn books, Sunday School Resources, Home Group Bible study material, books on preaching, Christian fiction (novels); also books on prayer.

We keep over 15 Bible translations of scripture in stock, some of them in many different editions, including: KJV (AV), NKJV, RV, RSV, NRSV, NIV, NJB, NASB, NEB, CEV, NCV, REB, Amplified, NLT, ESV and The Message. With so many Bible to choose from, if you are looking for a new Bible we will be pleased to guide you through the many alternatives to find the one best suited to you.

Visitors to our shop often comment on the extensive range of Bible Commentaries, Bible Dictionaries, Bible Encyclopaedias and Theology we carry in stock. We see part of our ministry as being a resource to church leaders so it is important to us to support them with a wide range of books which will help them in serving their congregations. For your convenience, most of our commentaries are stocked in Biblical order. Our normal stock is supplemented by a special range (most at bargain prices) under our Engage scheme. This is a selection of academic and theological titles which we carry in stock for a period of 3 months at specially reduced prices. At the end of the period they revert to normal price but a new selection is reduced. These books are all featured in the Engage Catalogue which we wills end free of charge to a UK address to anyone who requests it.

We recognise the ministry of Christian music so we carry a good range of praise music, instrumental music, contemporary artists and bands and gospel music. The main music publishers represented are: Alliance Music, Integrity, Kevin Mayhew and Kingsway Music – but we also stock the Taize albums and recordings of Cornish choirs singing religious music. We also have a good selection of children’s music. The music from events such as Spring Harvest, Keswick, Stoneleigh and Soul Survivor are favourites with our customers.

Our New Year Sale and mid-Summer Sale have become very popular with our customers, for the excellent bargains.

Every two months we send to those on our mailing list a copy of the free Just In magazine. This keeps you up to date with some of the latest books, music, videos and Christian software. It also normally includes a section of special offers with excellent discounts.

We carry a small stock of videos for sale, but most people locally prefer to hire them from our extensive video library where we have over 650 Christian videos to rent. These are an excellent resource for home groups and Sunday Schools, where the cartoons and animated films such as Veggie Tales are always popular. There is a daily charge of 50p or £1 or we can arrange terms for weekly hire or even hire by post.

As a service to customers we supply the major Christian magazines e.g. Woman Alive, Renewal, Youthwork, Wholeness.

We sell and exchange Book Tokens under the national Book Tokens scheme as well as our own Gift Tokens.

As a further service to our local bookshop customers we sell Communion Wine (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), Candles (altar candles, Baptismal candles and Christingle candles). Popular sizes of candle are kept in stock, others available to order. We can also supplies to order, communion wafers.

We are always delighted when people have an enthusiasm for Christian literature and want to share it with others. To help in this we supply our book agents with a quantity of Christian books at a discount on sale or return terms. If you live within travelling distance of our shop and wish to run a church bookstall, please get in touch. We have produced an introductory booklet to help you – please ask for a copy.

We stock a selection of the many Christian software titles for the computer. If you would like a catalogue, please e-mail us. We also sell the bible on cassette or on CD for listening at home or on the move.

If you are looking for a wide selection of greetings cards – all with a Christian message, or Bible verse, we stock those in our adjacent shop called ‘Good Impressions’. We also have over 200 different Prayer Cards with inspirational texts and many more bookmarks with a Christian message.

We are a registered stockist of material for the Alpha courses. Alpha has played a major role in evangelism during the last 10 years bringing the meaning of Christianity, to thousands.
